Coffee History
At APROCAM we have 235 hectares of certified Organic and Fair
Trade coffee grown by 105 small producers, who have
implemented an improved technological package, friendly to the
environment and ethically responsible with the communities in
the influence área.
We grow coffee in the provinces of Bagua and Utcubamba in the
Amazon region from 1200 to 1500 meters above sea level.
The main varieties are Catimor, caturra and borbon.
We achieve average yields of 25 quintals of dry parchment per
hectare.
To guarantee optimum grain quality, we carry out selective
harvesting and the post-harvesting process is carried out taking
the recommendations of the cooperative’s technical area.
The harvested coffee is processed the same day and fermented in concrete tanks during the
appropriate hours to give it the organoleptic characteristics desired by our clients.
Drying is carried out in solar dryers, avoiding contact with contaminating agents at all times.

Another APROCAM production area is located in the Cañaris district in Lambayeque region. These plantations are located at an altitude ranging from 1600 to 2200 meters above sea level. This unique geographical location allows you to obtain specialty coffee that is around 85 cup points according to the SCA standard In Peru, coffee harvest coincides with the rainy season, which is why, when the installed drying capacity of our producers collapses, the cooperative provides transportation and centralized drying service in the solar dryers located in Bagua city. Next, the photo shows the dryers in rainy weather located in our Aprocam store.
